The Suicide Squad actor poses with a life-size statue of King Shark

Suicide Squad star Steve Agee is pictured posing next to a life-size wooden statue of his anthropomorphic character, King Shark.

The Suicide Squad Star Steve Agee was pictured posing next to a life-size wood carving of his character, King Shark. The 53-year-old actor portrayed the DC villain on set in collaboration with Sylvester Stallone, who provided the character’s CGI voice. In addition to King Shark, Agee also played supporting character John Economos, an ARGUS agent working under Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). Economos is also featured prominently in the HBO spin-off series Peacemaker.

Conceived in the 1990s by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett, King Shark primarily served as a comic book adversary to Aquaman. Drafted into the so-called Suicide Squad in later stories, the character was one of many chosen to be portrayed in James Gunn’s live action film alongside Harley Quinn, Peacemaker, Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2 and Polka -Dot Man. Released in 2021, the film followed the misfits of Task Force X on a covert mission to infiltrate the dictator state Corto Maltese and destroy a giant alien lifeform known as Starro the Conqueror.

Now a fan under the username proud_squirrel shared a photo of Agee posing next to a life-size wood carving of his suicide squad character. Created as part of Washington State Summer Con, the wooden King Shark statue rivaled Agee’s 6-foot-7 frame impressively and featured intricate detailing, including individual teeth and defined pecs. A frequent collaborator with Gunn, Agee has previously expressed his willingness to reprise the role of King Shark in any future spinoffs, citing his enjoyment working with co-stars Idris Elba and Margot Robbie. Being one of the few characters to survive the events of The Suicide Squadpossibility of King Shark return remains on the table, especially amid Gunn’s success Peacemaker series, which sparked new fan interest in the DCEU. While no specific update has been given regarding the character’s future in the franchise, Gunn has previously hinted at the potential return of other Suicide Squad members, including The Thinker (Peter Capaldi), despite his bloody death in the photo of 2021.

While Agee’s chances of returning in the future The Suicide Squad sequels could be high given his character’s survival, Gunn has so far indicated that any new feature film with him at the helm is on the back burner as he prioritizes television work. While King Shark’s complex background may make him a desirable addition to future movies or TV spinoffs, there don’t appear to be any immediate plans to return him to the DCEU. Despite this, with the second season of Peacemaker already given the green light, Agee will likely soon be seen taking on the more human character of John Economos.
