Line it is Drawn: Classic Comic Book Covers of the Mirror Universe

This week, our artists reproduced mirror-universe versions of famous comic book covers, with heroes and villains turning spots!

So every week I post a topic here. You answer them on the CSBG Twitter page (just write @csbg with your response), our artists will each choose one of your suggestions and I will post their designs here based on your suggestions each week. So each week you will have a new question and you will see the choices chosen from the previous week.

To be eligible you must follow @csbg when you reply – so go follow us then provide your response to the next question / challenge (all suggestions must be submitted by 8:59 am Pacific Sunday).

Next week’s topic …

Gene Guilmette mentioned this one recently, so I’m revisiting this classic Line theme! Re-design / update a Saturday morning cartoon! Just name a cartoon and our artists will update / redesign or come up with an update / redesign idea yourself and share it in the tweet!

Read on for the designs that were created thanks to the last question / challenge!

As suggested by our own Adam Ruvola, choose a famous comic book cover or splash remade for an “evil universe” where the heroes are the villains and vice versa.

I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on who made the suggestion.

Jorge decided to do a big riff on the concept of a mirror universe via a suggestion from his friend Pedro Angosto.

Welcome to EARTH-C, headquarters of INJUSTICE BOARD

In the Big Bang Comics universe, the Round Table of America from Earth-A is formed by the greatest heroes: Ultiman, Knight Watchman and Venus.

In the Criss-Cross Crisis, they encountered the Knights of Justice of Earth-B, but there are other alternate worlds!

In Earth-3, the events unfolded in a different way: -OMEGAMAN: the radiation from the meteor that affected astronaut Chris Kelly made him, in this world, reach a critical point and detonate Empire City. Only her teenage son survived, acquiring powers similar to Ultiman’s but, traumatized by the event, used them for evil, dressed in black and calling himself Omegaman. The yellow radiation in his body is constantly leaking through his eyes.-NIGHT BURGAL: The bomb that, in Earth-A, detonated Reid’s brother Randall, took him and his nephew to this world. So, his surviving brother, Ted, ruined the Randal Company with his gambling debts. Without any inheritance, his second son turned to crime by calling himself Night Burgal. Lacking in personality, he was manipulated by his former butler, Pinkerton Fleming (the counterpart in this world of the Flamingo), mastering the use of all firearms and armed with a crowbar.-LIBERTINA: Daughter of Venus and Mars, goddess of lust and executions, can control any woman’s mind and has fun doing it. She also enjoys having sex with the ghost of her deceased lovers possessing the bodies of innocent women.
