IndyCar Nashville layout will remain unchanged for 2023, but new stadium looms

After considering the idea of making some changes to the layout of the street circuit that hosted two accident-filled NTT IndyCar Series events, Nashville Grand Prix organizers opted to keep the same layout used in the last visit in August.

The decision, as RACER has learned, comes after a few IndyCar drivers proposed changes to sections where contact regularly occurred. RACER also understands the possibility of slight changes to the profile of some walls, but such changes would come closer to the start of track assembly work for next year’s event.

According to Axios, final approval for a new domed stadium for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans is reportedly imminent. According to the initial proposal for the new stadium, it would be located to the east of the current stadium and built on the area where the IndyCar paddock is located and where the last corners of the circuit are located.

If construction of the new Titans stadium takes place in the area and within the suggested timeline, IndyCar and the Nashville GP promoter are expected to create an alternative layout for 2024.
